Hillary-Marie's

Sole Music Collective

Live in Concert

With the Law of Vibration telling us that everything is energy, it’s safe to say that music, dance, emotions and atmosphere manifest a universal energy that can be absorbed and felt by all those who surround us. VIBE is a celebration of music and Tap dance as a universal energy and language of the world as dancers and musicians flow in and out of choreography and improvisation with the inventiveness and spontaneity that can be attained with being present and mindful of the vibrations that surround us. Featuring four tap dancers and four musicians, VIBE exposes the true nature of percussive dance as a form of storytelling packed with texture, movement, sound and the familiar roller coaster ride of life’s emotions.

REVIEW: Enoch Chan Productions Presents: DEVIATED THEATRE/Hillary-Marie’s Sole Music Collective'

by Taryn Brown

"The second act featured Hillary-Marie’s Sole Music Collective in VIBE: the cornerstone of this shared show. The piece opened with a voiceover stating “vibration is the core of the spirit; it is the breath of life.” With various sections of solos and group dances, VIBE served to showcase tap dance as pure movement, as well as within miniature personalized narratives. Choreographic tools included tricky cannons, powerful unison, and a symbiotic connection between pensive performance and likeable showboating."

REVIEW: ‘Soul Walk’: An exuberant blend of tap dancing and jazz

“Soul Walk,” the stimulating and, yes, soulful revue that Michael has directed in collaboration with bebop and scat singer Emily Braden and the Andrew Atkinson Trio, transports the audience to a tie-loosening, TGIF locale — a happy-hour club where people order drinks between sets, and where tired shoulders feel their burden slip away."
